Dino Jeram

CLIENT
Dino Jeram

PROJECT TYPE
Brand Development

DETAILS
Dino Jeram are the premier Wedding Photography Studio based in the UK covering USA/Canada UAE, Asia and Africa.

As their amazing photography expanded, they required a simple clean re-brand.

I was tasked to give dinojeram.com an uplift to its visual brand identity. I learned about their philosophy, all possible applications of the brand from USB sticks, photo albums, apparel etc.

A simple yet timeless abstract icon was produced that subtly used the ‘d’ & ‘j’ from the initial name of the brand. It was successfully applied across all product materials and after several years, it’s still going strong along with the brand!

DB - Horizon

CLIENT
Deutsche Bank

Project Type
FSV to Full Production

BRIEF
Help the client to articulate a vision for managing risk and finance information across the bank. Design a series of applications that enable the entire risk department to understand the current risk of the bank

DETAILS
This project was one of my first in financial services.

I learned so much about process, workflows and client management from this one engagement!

We had an ever expanding team and extremely challenging stakeholders.

The team was hugely talented but lacked structure. From a UX perspective we weren’t capturing the core requirements appropriately and therefore lacked the ability to break down the core task / goals the users intended.

From a UI perspective, we had no style guide or UI his so each time anew designer came aboard, they would change styles slightly so gradually it looked like we have 5 buttons, 4 input types, 6 variants of the same icon etc…

So, we managed to take stock and start an audit process to consolidate styles to ease future design and dev work. Of course this was the wrong way around but it was a huge learning curve for all involved!

TAKEAWAYS
• More structure& planning early on
• Paper prototyping world a treat
• UI Kits / Design system required early on for design team and devs
• Weekly show & tells too short, should have been at least every two weeks to allow for better understanding of the tasks

RWE

CLIENT
RWE - Real-time platform for electricity and gas trading.

BRIEF
Turn existing components into a scalable design system and focus on creation of Algo orders to be placed though the system.

PROCESS
• Remote Workshops / Sketching
• Mental Models
• Task specific workflows
• Rapid Prototyping
• x2 week sprints

Gathering requirments through workshops and remote sessions using collaorative online tools. Understanding business and user requirements, breaking them down into priorities and managable timelines. Engaging stakeholders and product owners through user flows and rapid prototyping. Involving devs early to ensure tight collaboration, transparency and milestone deliverables through the team.

Created a design system that allowed scalability, consistency and efficiency when handing off to developers and sharing with other design teams. Rapid prototyping was a huge factor in the success deliverables as they offered the business and devs a clear vision of what we were creating. Everyone was on the same page :)
